Privacy policy

Dianshi (“I”, “me”) is operated by Leo in Oakville, Ontario, and runs dianshi.ca. This policy explains what information I collect when you visit the site, book a call or email me, and what I do with it.
What you give me
When you email me, send the project form or book a call, I receive what you choose to send: your name, email address, phone number, business name and the details of your request.
The project form
When you send the form on the Start a project page, I keep what you wrote (name, email or phone, what you need, your website and your message), the page or tool you came from, the language of the page and an approximate location (country and city). It is stored with the site and sent to my inbox, and used only to reply to you.
The free website check
When you run the free check, the website address you enter is used to read that site’s public pages and show you the results. The results are not saved. Your connection’s address is held in memory for up to an hour to limit how many checks one visitor can run, and is not written down.
The voice front desk demo
The front desk on the Lab demo is an automated assistant, not a person. It uses your microphone only after your browser asks and you allow it. Your voice is processed by xAI, the provider of the voice service, to hold the conversation. I keep the text of each call, its length, the page and an approximate location, not the audio. To limit use, a one-way scrambled form of your connection’s address is counted for the day.
Checking that you are a person
Before the project form is sent and before a voice call starts, the page runs an automatic check that you are a person (Cloudflare Turnstile). It looks at signals from your browser and usually asks nothing of you. It is used only to keep automated abuse out.
What the site counts
This site counts its own visits. For each page view it records the page, the site you came from, an approximate location (country, region and city, supplied by the hosting network), the type of device and browser, and how long the page stayed open. It uses no cookies and no advertising trackers, and it does not store IP addresses. A random identifier kept in your browser’s local storage tells one visit from another; it holds no personal information. The numbers are seen only by me and are not shared with anyone.
How I use it
To reply to you, prepare proposals, deliver the work you asked for, improve the site and keep it secure, and to meet legal obligations.
Other services
Call bookings are handled by Calendly under its own privacy notice. The hosting provider processes requests to deliver pages and protect the service. These services may process information outside Canada. I do not sell or rent personal information.
How long I keep it
Enquiry and project information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for the request, our working relationship, legal obligations and security.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you may ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent where it applies. If you are not satisfied with my answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
